Finding God in a Joke
In a recent interview, James Martin said, "If we miss the joy in Christianity, then we miss the point."
Indeed. And the best way to capture joy is to share a joke.
A guy walks up to a church and knocks on the door and a Dominican priest answers. The guy asks, "Excuse me father, but if I gave you a small donation, would you pray a Rosary for me?"
"Of course," the Dominican says. "What's you intention?"
"I want a Lexus."
The Dominican asks, "What's a Lexus?"
Discouraged, the guy walks to another church and knocks on the door. This time, a Franciscan answers.
"Excuse me," says the guy, "but I was wondering if you would pray a Rosary for me."
"Of course, brother. What is you intention?"
The guy says, "I want a Lexus."
"What's a Lexus?" asks the Franciscan.
The guy leaves the church, even more discouraged. He goes to a third church and knocks on the door. This time, a Jesuit answers.
"Excuse me, Father," says the guy. "But I was wondering if you knew what a Lexus was."
"Of course I do!" says the Jesuit. "I drive a Lexus myself."
"Great!" says the guy. "I was wondering if you would pray a Rosary for me, for the intention of getting a Lexus."
"Of course," said the Jesuit, "but what's a Rosary?"
